Front-End Software Engineer
10x Genomics creates products that allow scientists to study the genome in new and more precise ways. Software is key to making these discoveries, and good visualization software is key to accelerating these discoveries.
As a 10x front-end engineer, you will be creating visualization tools for brand-new scientific data types. Your users will be experts in their scientific fields, and your job will be to help them make important discoveries, faster. You will use modern web technologies, such as React, Redux, ES6 Javascript, Plotly and D3 to make interactive, intuitive interfaces to explore complex biological data. You will also interact directly with scientists both in house and in the field to develop and refine new features. Your code will be used on a daily basis in some of the most well-known and impactful research centers in the world.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and ship production-ready software.
- Work with biologists to solve difficult user experience and visualization challenges.
- Develop reusable, well-tested UI components.
- Work alongside product managers to develop schedules and scope for regular releases.
Desired Skills and Background
- 2+ years shipping software.
- Experience developing applications with modern JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Vue or Angular.
- Good working knowledge of JavaScript (vanilla through ES6), CSS and HTML.
- Specific experience developing visualizations in libraries such as Plotly or D3 are pluses.
- Specific experience working in other areas of a web stack a plus.
- Strong aesthetic sense.
Background in biology and DNA sequencing is not required. Interest in the field is.
10x Genomics is headquartered in Pleasanton, with an office by Embarcadero BART in San Francisco. Remote development will be considered for the strongest candidates; Bay Area preferred.
